Ellie is a member of the LWN management committee and a councillor in Southwark. She is a public policy specialist on crime, justice and violence against women and girls, and also has a legal background.

Abena Oppong-Asare MP, Chair of Labour Women's Network

Abena was first been elected Chair of LWN back in September 2019, and then elected as the Labour MP for Erith and Thamesmead in December 2019.  She currently undertakes the role of Shadow Minister for Women's Health and Mental Health.

Kiran Mahil was elected Secretary of LWN in 2019. Orginally from the West Midlands, Kiran works as an Assistant Head Teacher in an East End secondary school. She is passionate about embedding inclusion and resilience in education.

Rosa is an experienced leader who spent her early career in the television industry: writing, producing and directing programmes for some of the UK and USA’s largest TV networks. She then transitioned into the world of digital tech and political leadership, bringing with her strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex topics into engaging, entertaining content for a wide variety of audiences.

Kate is Head of Research, Policy and External Relations at Community trade union and leads on the union's political work. Kate has led key pieces of work at Community including standing up for British steelworkers, speaking up for the self-employed and shaping policy on the future of work.
